Pre-amble and Challenge
A POM member who is unable to join the Lunch and Shmooze meetings during the day asked if it would be possible to record them. Unfortunately, for privacy reasons, technical reasons, and lack of womanpower to do so, POM is unable to do so. Ideally, a blog could resolve the issue. Again, no one on the POM executive is willing to undertake this commitment. It means being at both the Tuesday and Thursday meetings, taking notes, putting those notes into a blog.
As someone who, until just before my retirement, was unable to participate in daytime POM activities thereby missing out on group projects and the shmooze aspect of the POM, I decided that I will try to do a brief synopsis of what occurred at each L&S meeting. I will leave out anything of a delicate or private nature (i.e. if someone is ill, bad news shared, etc. but will try to summarize what was talked about, links (if available) or ideas to google if something without a link was mentioned, etc. However, as I do not know how much time this will take, I am not making a long-term commitment to write a POM blog.
I may refer back to things discussed in the past, and my apologies if there is no point of reference for the reader.
Challenge: From time to time, ideas are thrown into the arena for a challenge. Our current challenge is to make something from a man's shirt or men's shirts. This could be a quilt, an embroidered napkin - there are no guidelines to this one as to size, theme, or purpose. The due date is October 30th, 2023. As we do not meet in person, photos of the finished challenge are to be emailed to info@pomegranateguild.ca no later than the Sunday preceding the challenge. If you are unable to attend the L&S Zoom meeting, please include a detailed description of your challenge piece. I will try to figure out with our Zoom-master if the challenge pieces can be shared and how members can access them.
